When I curled in the Nationals in Green Bay (one was in North Dakota) Vince Lombardi was the main speaker. We placed 4th of all the teams competing.
After moving to Colorado from Alaska I started the Denver Curling Club. My cap is now on display there with my pins.
I grew up in Gimli Manitoba. We learned to curl on the frozen lake using 1liter jam tins frozen with water.
You didn’t curl until you found out if you could play hockey. I wasn’t good enough to play so I got to curl in the 1940s. We had a curling club in town. My mother also curled.
