Curling on natural ice - Curling Day In Canada

About 60 tears ago, my friend,Gail, and I came West from Manitoba to teach. We taught at Westbrook School north of Cochrane. We both enjoyed curling so two high school girls joined us and we had a great team. We went to several bonspiels that winter. We were playing in Balzac in our first bonspiel on natural ice. When the weather got mild, the ice became very heavy. We put both feet in the hacks and pushed with both hands. We would manage to get most of our rocks into the house. However,  the older ladies hogged most of their rocks. We had no problem winning several bonspiels that year. What fun!!
