A few years back, two of my good friends were playing each other in the Town & County League in Rocky Mountain House. Alex was laying 7 without
last rock. His other rock, #8 was out front but basically not even a good corner guard. Way off to the side about 6 feet in front of the house. Billy went down to throw the final rock of the end and unbelievable, raised Alex’s rock in for an 8 ender. I should have told that story recently at Billy’s Celebration of Life. He died at 92 and loved to curl. He curled lead for me for 20 years and after the game up in the lounge Billy’s would (ever time) “well guys, just another 99% game”. Honestly, it was about 33% but we always laughed.
