I am 3 time cancer survivor who had lost my husband Bill to cancer and my son Brendan to suicide.
While I have had much sadness, watching curling is my greatest pass time. While Bill and I watched the Tim Hortons Brier for decades on TV, my first in-person Brier was 2017 when I experienced a thrill of a lifetime when Team Gushue won the Tim Hortons Brier on home ice.
As a Newfoundlander I was so proud to witness the win, it was magical. Needless to say I was bit by the Brier bug and experienced a second thrill of a lifetime when my daughter surprised me with a plane ticket and brier tickets to watch team Gushue as Team Canada in Regina in 2018.
In Regina I was awarded Fan of the Game and even received scarves from Maureen, Brads mom and of course I watched Team Gushue win back to back briers. This moment was years in the making for Team Gushue and for me as a huge fan.
In Regina we also met Team NL and got to see Greg Smith win the Ross Harstone award. Seeing these two wins was better than winning the lotto and I would love to have the opportunity to return to watch a brier in person. I think I am Team Gushue good luck charm they need me and I must win these tickets.
