I believe it was 1969 and had never curled before but my bestie wanted me to play. We were stationed at CFB North Bay. Anyway we won a spot to play in the Northern Ontario School Girls championship in Sudbury. We needed a drive there and my dad volunteered, much to my embarrassment, I mean as a 16 year old who wanted their dad along for a get away. So we went played 3 ten end games in one day and won the title the next day in the final. It was pretty exciting and a time I will never forget it. I still brag about it at the ripe old age of 69. Would love to attend the Briar. Oh ya even got our pic in the North Bay Nugget.
