Flat on my face in front of Brad Gushue - Curling Day In Canada

I had the good fortune to go to New York with 4 friends. By total coincidence, Brad Gushue was there at the Rockefeller Centre promoting the sport of curling. You could actually go up and get an autograph and have him coach you to throw a stone a a small sheet of ice. There was just one thing missing. Its called a slider. At the time i was a recreational curler, and always wore a slider. For some reason i was very confident, i could show my friends that i could throw a wonderful stone. As you can imagine, i fell flat on my face and the stone hardly moved down the ice at all. I was sooooooo bloody embarrassed and am to this very day. Despite the embarrassment, i still smile to think i had that opportunity. He was a great sport and didn’t let on how foolish i looked.
