Curling Day in Canada

From a house to a home

February 1, 2021

It started with a love of curling in the 70’s
Sunday evening at the Thistle Curling Club
Friendly competition, laughter and fun
Where curlers felt like family
And the Thistle felt like home.

It started with a love of curling
Meeting my future husband at the Thistle
Then curling rings became wedding rings
With curling still our rock,
Made many lifelong friendships still treasured today.

It started with a love of curling
Then came the next generation curlers
Toddlers running around the curling lounge (their second home)
While Mommies and Daddies bonspieled,
Their first words were “Sweep” and “Hurry!”

It started with a love of curling in the 70’s
And today still loving curling as a senior
Now curling with those toddlers, now our adult children
Where curlers ARE my family
And the curling rink is still OUR home!
