Greatest Curling Fan - Curling Day In Canada

My mom, Laura Goss was a diehard curling and proud mom of the Silver Foxher son Glenn Goss, who skipped in 3 briers, coached the Gushue team following their Olympic gold and now coaches Team Perry. She and her best friend of 70 years bought tickets to the 2017 Brier at Mile One. They’d get dropped off each morning at 8 and be picked up after the final draw for the day was over except for the Thursday night before the semi finals. I promised them both that I’d take them to the Brier Patch. We had arranged to meet at a certain spot so I could get them across after the Gushue game was over to get a good seat at the patch. Found seats close to the band who were Bic and the ballpoints a great local band. Chardonnay in hand they were both settled for a good night. They danced all night with anyone who asked them. I remember the team from Saskatchewan dressed in their funny costumes and at least 50 years younger wiggled their way to sit next to the 87 year old dancer. Finally at 315 am I looked at. Mom and said I’m calling a cab and going home are you coming. Reluctantly she agreed. She danced all the way out to the music and said to me you know we’re missing great music.
This picture is when Gushue rock stopped and they win the Brier.
