Let’s Go Northern Ontario! - Curling Day In Canada

Kenora, ON just hosted the Northern Ontario Provincials. It was so exciting to have such great quality curling come to us! We have long cheered for Team McCarville -even when we lived in Alberta and it was so great to see them live! But the moment that was most exciting and brought tears to my eyes getting to see the excitement and love live was when Tanner Horgan hit the last shot in the last end to win Team Horgan their chance to represent Northern Ontario at the brier. It was an incredible shot and it was a must make for the win! Tanner Horgan and his brother, Jacob Horgan threw their brooms, jumped into a massive hug! It was such a sweet moment! They then came over to hug their Mom!

They had a series for 5 must win games that were all very exciting that brought them to this point! Darren Moulding and Colin Hodgson had been awesome to watch through all their games too and they were always so kind -chatting to the local crowd sometimes throughout the game.

Overall one of the neatest thing about spending much of 4-5 days watching many of the games was that our daughters who are 5 and 7 years old got the chance to see these amazing curlers and have sparked an interest to try it themselves! So the next week we got to go to our local club and they got to throw their first ever rocks! The future of curling in Canada is bright!
