It all started when my dad and I watched the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and we watched Curling for the first time. After this we were hooked, we both watched it from then on. We both attempted to learn, but unfortunately we couldn’t continue as my dads health took a turn. But that did not stop us from watching! With the amazing results in the Olympics and team Martin winning gold, we ended up getting tickets to see teams Martin vs Murdoch at Casino Rama, for a skins game. We took the long drive and ended up seeing these two amazing teams compete. Once again team Martin won. We got the opportunity to talk to all the guys and get autographs! Luckily I wore my Vancouver Olympics Team Canada hockey jersey (as Team Canada won the Hockey in the Olympics as well) and had all the guys sign it! I was in heaven! These guys were so friendly and down to earth and made it comfortable to talk to them. It was one of my favorite memories of being able to take my dad out to enjoy a trip away, before he got ill. He past away in 2021, but I know he was with me when I went to see the Women’s and Men’s Pinty’s finals at the end of 2021. I will continue to watch and go to live games whenever I can, and I know dad will be right beside me.
