My curling career is short… every winter we would venture out 2 or 3 times and always enjoyed it. Having had kids in sports , we always had to fundraiser to help support teams as we live near the southern tip of N.S., meaning we have to travel a lot. 3 or 4 years ago, a friend from Halifax approached me with sports pools to raise money for his girls curling teams. The friend is well known in shelburne county, having been a minor league baseball umpire and reaching AAA, the final league before the majors…As the years have passed the 2 girls have had great results. Bon spiel wins and the oldest team blades will represent NS at U18, Canada Games and U21 canadian championships. Younger sister has gained experience and won also.. Makes me proud to help these girls reach their full potential
