Officials - Curling Day In Canada

At the men’s senior nationals – as a Quebec representative – we were curling against Garnet Campbell – in about the fifth end – a measure was required. The official was called out – after several minutes the head official was called out – Garnet and I had no idea what was going on – turns out the measure was close to the pin and the official had tried to measure from the “back” of the stone – and of course the measure did not flex that way and the stone was moved. After about 15 minutes they decided to replay the end. The next morning at announcements – they announced the practice times – one of the curlers from Northern Ontario – blurted out “when do the officials practice”. Lots of laughter and embarrassment.
