Paul Davidson was a lifelong curler and supporter of the Bala Curling Club in Ontario.

He served many roles over the years on the Board of Directors and helped to develop several annual bonspiels and the club’s annual Golf Classique.

Still curling well into his 80’s, Paul decided it was time to give up the game. Paul’s body could not do it any longer. Everyone curler at the club was saddened by his absence.

One November night at the start of that season, Paul’s son was skipping a game against his grandson. Paul decided to come back to the club one last time to coach his grandson. Four generations of the Davidson family and several other longtime friends came out for the event. Paul Davidson was back out on the ice. The game was played and I honestly can’t remember who won and who lost because everyone present that night were winners. There were a few beverages and a ton of smiles and laughter in the warm room after that game. A night to never forget.

Paul would pass away just a few months later. God bless you Paul. You are missed.
