Passion for Curling - Curling Day In Canada

I started curling in Metcalfe, Ontario, at the age of 10, a mere 40 years ago, with my parents as my coaches. They led the Little Rocks program at our home club, and their passion for the sport quickly became mine. As I grew, so did my love for the game. I competed at the Provincial level in 1993 and represented my high school at OFSAA, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Fast forward to today, and curling is still a huge part of my life. After moving one town over to Russell, Ontario, I became an active member of the Russell Curling Club. Now, I’m giving back to the sport that gave me so much—I’m the lead coach for our Little Rocks program and coach my daughter’s U15 competitive team.

With a schedule full of curling—playing Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and coaching Thursdays and Sundays—there’s never a dull moment. But there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than on the ice, under the bright lights, sharing the sport I love!
