Growing up I lived in a small town, where curling wasn’t really available to kids. The local rink had a few sheets of ice and had a farmers league with a bonspiel.

I started watching curling on TV in 2008 and fell in love with the sport.

In 2011, my husband and I moved to a bigger city for work. We didnt know anyone there, but I decided to join a ladies league. One of the league committee members took me under her wing, found me a team to play with and even gave me a few one-on-one coaching sessions.

She is now one of my closest friends and our husband’s are like brothers.

So glad I joined the local curling club and learned how to play. Such a great experience and wonderful new friends.

In 2012, I volunteered at the men’s provincial playdowns and watched them fight for a spot at the Brier.

I watch every single draw when it is televised but would love to be at the Brier.

A true fan of the sport.
