In 1990 I was asked to join my work curling league, but they played at 8:45 on Saturday mornings, so I was very reluctant.
A colleague told me they were only one player short for the year, so I said I would play – for a year. I got to the RCNCC in Ottawa, asked who my skip was, and was directed to the keener already warming up on Sheet One.
Before that instant I would say I didn’t believe in love at first sight – after that instant, I knew I did. Fortunately for me, it was reciprocated!
We have just celebrated our 25th anniversary, still curl at RCNCC, and always look forward to playing on Sheet One.
